What bonding solves
Chipped front edges, a small gap between two teeth, a tooth that sits slightly short or narrow next to its neighbor, an exposed root surface near the gum line. The composite is shaded to your tooth, sculpted by hand, cured and polished, usually in a single appointment with no anesthetic needed.
What it does not do is change the whole smile. Widespread discoloration, larger gaps or several teeth needing a uniform result are veneer territory. Composite also picks up stain over years in a way porcelain does not.
Bonding compared with veneers
Bonding costs a fraction of a veneer, is done in one visit, and in many cases removes no enamel at all, which means it is reversible. That combination makes it the sensible first move for one or two small imperfections.
Veneers last longer, resist staining better and give more control over shape and color across several teeth. If you are fixing a single chip, bond it. If you are redesigning a smile, porcelain is usually the better investment.
