General
Several shades, no damage.
Professional whitening that goes further than anything sold at a drugstore, supervised so your enamel and gums come through it fine.
In-office or take-home trays
In-office whitening uses a stronger gel with the gums protected, and delivers most of the change in a single appointment. It suits anyone with a date on the calendar.
Take-home trays are custom-made to your teeth and worn for a set period each day over a couple of weeks. The end result is comparable, the sensitivity is usually milder because it builds gradually, and you keep the trays for touch-ups later. Many patients do a combination of both.
What causes staining, and what whitening will not fix
Coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco and time all stain the outer layer of enamel, and that is exactly what whitening lifts. Enamel also thins with age, letting the yellower dentin underneath show through.
Whitening does not change porcelain. Existing crowns, veneers and bonded fillings keep their original shade, which is why we whiten before matching any new cosmetic work. It also does very little for internal discoloration from trauma, old root canal treatment or certain medications, where veneers or bonding are the honest answer.
Why patients choose it
- Stronger than any over-the-counter product.
- Gums protected during treatment.
- Custom trays you keep for touch-ups.
- Sensitivity managed, not ignored.
